How we check traffic

A cheap deposit is not a good one. Six signals by which a source is declared fraud, three switch-off rules, and what happens to money already spent.

Signals

Six signals that expose a farm

Signal 01

Installs without an open

If more than 30% of installs from a source never open the app on day one, it is a farm, not people. The source is paused until explained.

Signal 02

Time to first deposit

A deposit one minute after sign-up for hundreds of users in a row means incentivised traffic. Normal is a spread from an hour to three days.

Signal 03

Repeat deposit on day 30

The main quality metric: a source where fewer than fifteen of a hundred first deposits return after a month does not scale, even at a low cost per deposit.

Signal 04

Device and address spread

One phone model, one OS version and one subnet across a thousand sign-ups means emulators. Checked in tracker data every week.

Signal 05

KYC pass rate

For crypto and licensed iGaming this is the only honest number. Below 40% against a 55–70% norm means the source sells sign-ups, not people.

Signal 06

Median views for creators

Calculated over the last thirty posts, not the rate card. A gap of more than 40% between claimed reach and the median means the placement is not paid for.

Rules

When a source is switched off

Rule 01

Cost per action above target two weeks running

The source is switched off without debate and the budget moves to one already delivering. “It will pick up” is not accepted.

Rule 02

Two fraud signals out of six

Two of the signals above coinciding means a same-day stop and a data request to the platform. Until the platform answers, payment for the period is frozen.

Rule 03

A complaint from a regulator or platform

Any violation notice stops the placement until reviewed, even if the numbers are good. The domain’s reputation is worth more than a week of traffic.

Money

What happens to the budget

01

Rejected traffic is not paid for

A weekly tracker reconciliation: sign-ups and deposits that fail the check are deducted from the platform’s invoice before payment, not refunded after.

02

Platform replacement without re-approval

The freed budget goes to the next source in the media plan the same day; the client sees it in the weekly report, not in a separate email.

03

Access to raw data

The client gets read access to the tracker from day one: any number in the report can be checked without us.
